Founder

Matilda was born during my own journey into motherhood. While pregnant, I became extra cautious about what I was breathing in – and I realised how hard it was to find candles that felt truly safe for mums and babies.

I had been making candles as a hobby for some time, but pregnancy changed everything. I started looking at every ingredient differently – asking myself,

“Are scented candles safe around babies?”
“What smells are safe for newborns?”
“Can I use candles in a nursery?”

That shift led me to create something better: candles that are not only beautiful and calming, but also safe and natural.

What began as a quiet project at home soon became a heartfelt mission: to help other mums feel calm, safe and seen.

Matilda Organic isn’t just a brand – it’s a part of my own story as a mother.
